Iceland is baaaack — just once next year — and we’ve packed our itinerary with the kind of experiences that make your soul do a little somersault. Think: a design crawl with Reykjavík’s coolest women, wild picnics that feel like fever dreams, and geothermal dips that make you forget what day it is.
We chose July for that midsummer sweet spot when you have 24-hour daylight and the sun never sets. This trip is designed to be one long golden hour and you won’t want to miss it.

“Amazing on every level. The care and concern given to every detail. The seamless way it all came together. The wonderful co-travelers. It only took me two days back at home to book two more trips with Wild Terrains. That’s the best review I can give!”
“Vacation of a lifetime. There is no way I could have experienced everything Wild Terrain’s provided, on my own. I am in awe of this spectacular vacation and I look forward to my next one! Egglooo was outstanding, knowledgeable, and a pure pleasure to be with. ”
“If you enjoy hiking, waterfalls, outdoor picnics, glaciers, and black beaches while in the company of wonderful women, then this trip is for you. I loved this trip so much, I want to go on all of Wild Terrains’ trips! ”
ICELAND ITINERARY
DAY ONE - REYKJAVIK
We drop our bags at Sigurlaug Sverrisdottir's ION City Hotel, and meet our Trip Leader, Eygló Margrét Lárusdóttir—a local fashion designer who basically knows everyone in town. Together, we fuel up on local coffee and cardamom buns, before hitting the Reykjavik streets on a design crawl that takes us into the studios of Iceland’s most inspiring women makers.
In the evening, we slow things down with a geothermal dip at Laugarás Lagoon, to embrace the rituals of Icelandic bath culture and soak our jet lag away. We’re officially in vacation mode, and a nourishing group dinner sets the tone for the rest of our trip: intimate, inspired, and low-key unforgettable.
Meals included: snacks, dinner
DAY TWO - REYKJAVIK
We’re standing on some of the most progressive soil in the world—so we’re digging in. Over coffee, gender studies powerhouse Finnborg Steinþorsdottir leads a candid convo on womanhood, equity, and what Iceland gets right (and wrong). It’s smart, it’s salty, and it’s incredibly energizing.
There’s a surprise in the works for lunch today, but you’ll have to stay tuned! Trust us, it’s a good one.
You have the rest of the day free to explore on your own—stroll the streets of Reykjavík, check out the spaceship-like Hallgrímskirkja Cathedral, marvel at Harpa Concert Hall, or soak under the stars at Sky Lagoon.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch
DAY THREE - SOUTH ICELAND
Today, we leave city life for Iceland’s wild landscapes and our fabulous friends: cheese whisperer Eirný Sigurðardóttir and food stylist Áslaug Snorradóttir. Wild Terrains legends at this point, Eirný and Áslaug are beloved for hosting ethereal pop-up picnics in Iceland’s dreamiest spots. After wandering the trails around the majestic Seljalandsfoss waterfall, they’ve invited us to an al fresco lunch with fizzy pink gin cocktails, goat cheese crostinis, and the biggest laughs. When we can’t possibly eat another bite, we’ll check ourselves into Hotel Lóa for a cozy, relaxed evening and a casual group dinner.
Meals included: lunch, dinner
DAY FOUR - SOUTH ICELAND
Today is all about chasing waterfalls, wandering lava fields, and searching for puffins, as we nature-crawl our way down the south coast. Eyglo's plotting our route—expect hidden stops and unmarked magic.
We’ll picnic on the go, then return to Eirný and Áslaug’s house for a midsummer dinner party, filled with lively conversation, new friendships, and maybe one too many bottles of wine that may or may not end in an ABBA dance party.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
DAY FIVE - SOUTH ICELAND
In the morning, we hop on the ferry to the Westman Islands: a tiny, rugged archipelago that’s the perfect addition to our summer itinerary. After a delicious lunch at a local seafood spot, we explore the island’s windswept cliffs and keep our eyes peeled for puffins and Beluga whales.
Back on the mainland, we regroup, refresh, and gather for one last dinner where we toast to this midsummer dream trip and the friendships we’ve made. If we’re crying by dessert, just roll with it.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
DAY SIX - KEFLAVIK
The part where we hug, say our goodbyes, and pretend we’re not already plotting a reunion. One last breakfast, and we are off to Keflavik Airport to head home. Iceland, you’ve been good to us.
Meals included: breakfast

“Going to Iceland with Wild Terrains was one of the best things I’ve ever done! The trip had the perfect mix of free time and planned activities. Iceland is beautiful, and I loved meeting interesting women who love to travel. I can’t wait to go on another Wild Terrains trip soon.”
“This was my third trip with Wild Terrains, to Iceland this time, and it did not disappoint again! Eyglo was an amazing guide and the little touches that Lauren always puts into every tour was really appreciated. I learned a lot about Icelandic culture and made friends I will keep forever, just like on previous tours!”
“Iceland had been a bucket list destination & this trip blew my high expectations away. Lauren & her team curated a perfect blend of Icelandic culture, glorious nature, delicious food & inspiring people — without a single “touristy” moment — shared with like-minded, fun fellow travelers. Simply put, this trip was perfection.”
“Since returning from my trip to Iceland, I have been telling everyone about Wild Terrains! I can’t say enough about this well-planned and exciting one-of-a-kind experience. ”
“I’m blown away at how incredibly enjoyable this trip was. Iceland is beautiful. Every day felt like stepping into a painting or NatGeo photo. Never in a million years did I ever think I would be having a picnic with a glacier as our backdrop! Great food, beautiful views, and lots and lots of laughs.”
“This Iceland trip was everything I had hoped for and everything I needed at that point in my life. Our trip leader, Eyglo, has my heart. I can’t say enough about how much this trip meant to me.”
