Raxel Eyjólfsdóttir
distiller and mixologist
REYKJAVIK, ICELAND
Ragnheiður Axel Eyjólfsdóttir is an Icelandic entrepreneur, distiller and advocate for the unique flavours of Icelandic nature. With more than a decade of experience in the spirits and drink industry, she has developed a deep understanding of distilling, flavour development and using local, seasonal ingredients.
Ragnheiður comes from a family that has long worked with wild-harvested Icelandic ingredients, including herbs, berries, seaweed and natural salts. Through this connection to the land, she has explored how Iceland’s distinctive landscape can be expressed through food and drink. Her work has included developing spirits and liqueurs using ingredients such as crowberries, angelica, Arctic thyme, juniper and seaweed.
Today, Ragnheiður runs a bespoke service specialising in cocktails, drinks and experiences made with Icelandic ingredients. Her approach combines traditional knowledge, modern mixology and a strong sense of place, creating drinks that reflect Iceland’s wild landscapes, coastal character and changing seasons.
