Ana PALMA

CO-OWNER, LOS CHULENGOS

MENDOZA, ARGENTINA

Meet Ana Palma, co-owner of Los Chulengos - a historic ranch in the middle of the Andes mountains that has been with the Palma family for generations.

Today, Ana and her sisters Manuela and Ines manage the ranch, opening it up to tourists when their family isn’t using it as their gathering spot. Los Chulengos is one of our favorite places to enjoy a glass of Malbec and take in the Mendoza countryside. A true taste of traditional Argentine culture.

LEARN MORE ABOUT ANA

1.  WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR PERSONAL HISTORY WITH LOS CHULENGOS? WHAT HAS IT BEEN LIKE TO GROW UP WITH THE FAMILY BUSINESS?

Los Chulengos is a big part of my life. I spent my childhood here, fishing, riding horses and having fun with my brothers and cousins. My grandfather and my father taught me to love the mountains, the horses and the country life. The family business started when I was 15 years old, and hosting guests from all the world changed my personality, I was shy and bashful. But now I can affirm that I enjoyed a lot chatting with people.

2. WHEN YOU WERE A KID, DID YOU HAVE A DREAM ABOUT WHAT YOU WOULD BE WHEN YOU WERE GROWN UP?

When I was a kid, I never dreamed of anything in particular. I graduated from a law degree, I learned languages. Quite young I got married and I started to travel every year to Europe for the polo season. But there is nothing I love more than to return to my country and work at  Los Chulengos with my family.

3.  DO YOU HAVE A DREAM TRAVEL DESTINATION?

I love to travel, I have a lot on my bucket list. My priorities are Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
