Buenos Aires: Café, Culture, & Conversation Exchange

$150.00

Looking for a soft landing in Buenos Aires? Eager to dust off your high school Spanish skills with a friendly and engaging local? Maybe you’re curious about Argentina’s arts and culture scene? Explore all of this and more over a warm drink with artist Ivonne Jacobs. Visit a classic coffee shop where you’ll get a feel for the local culture and its reverence for café con leche y medialunas, get your bearings as you adapt to the scale of Buenos Aires, and gain some extra confidence by learning key Spanish phrases and Argentine slang.

The icing on the cake? Ivonne only offers this to Wild Terrains and it’s one of our most cherished experiences. In fact, she was our founder Lauren’s host mom many years ago when she studied in Buenos Aires!

ivonne jacob

Originally from Uruguay, Ivonne moved to Buenos Aires in 1974. By 1985 she’d begun to pursue a career in the arts; since then she’s exhibited her work across Argentina, Uruguay, the United States, Spain, and beyond. Known for her use of mixed media, she incorporates materials such as clay, coffee grounds, electrical wire, and more into her pieces. She has also hosted dozens of exchange students in her mid-century masterpiece flat located in the residential neighborhood of Belgrano - including our founder, Lauren!
