VICTORIA BROND

HEAD WINEMAKER, BODEGA ALPAMANTA

MENDOZA, ARGENTINA

María Victoria Brond has been head winemaker at Alpamanta since 2019 and since her arrival, biodynamics have been brought to the forefront of the winery’s focus. By allowing the vines to express themselves in the purest and most authentic way, Victoria and her team have gained honor and acclaim both in Argentina and across the world.

A Mendoza native, she is passionate about the holistic, ecological, and ethical approach of biodynamic winemaking and has paved the path for other wineries to do the same. After receiving her degree in oenology, Victoria worked at the National Institute of Viticulture, Bodega Chandon, Bodega del Fin del Mundo in Patagonia, and Nieto Senetiner, making wines according to conventional methods.

Her dedication and deep knowledge of biodynamic techniques have revolutionized Alpamanta’s products, creating a balanced universe where the soil, the vines, farm animals, insects, and nature convene in harmony.

With a career spanning over two decades, she was recognized as 2023’s “Emerging Winemaker” by the classic South American wine publication Descorchados and its prestigious Chilean critic, Patricio Tapia.

Today, we can proudly stand behind a new way of doing things, that women can be well-respected and trailblazing winemakers, and that biodynamic wines can be recognized as some of Argentina’s best.
