Sophia Smith is a fly fishing guide and artist located in Taos, New Mexico where she operates out of the Taos Fly Shop. Originally from the Sierra Nevadas, she has always been drawn to the high alpine and fly fishing has been part of her life story since. Her artwork has evolved with her overtime, but has found its place in Taos as she continues to paint native trout species in the hopes of bringing awareness to the conservation of these unique cold water species. If she is not painting or fishing, she is advocating for trout and its habitat through local and international conservation organizations as she works to complete her MBA in Sustainability in pursuit of defining solutionary systems to maintain conservation ethos across the country.
