LEARN MORE ABOUT MARIA

1. WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO TRAVEL WITHIN ARGENTINA? WHY?

One of my favorite spots in Argentina is Cafayate, Salta. I went there all my childhood mainly in Carnaval. My dad would try different wines, and we would go and play on the sand dunes. And we would eat as many figs and grapes as we could. Today Cafayate is one incredible destination in Argentina because of its landscape and the wine. For me it is more about refreshing those childhood memories...

2. WHAT IS A DREAM TRAVEL DESTINATION? IF YOU COULD GO TOMORROW, WHO WOULD YOU TAKE WITH YOU?

One of the destinations on my bucket list is Machu Picchu, Peru. After being in all the continents and walking over the streets of Singapore, Tokyo, Saint Petersburg, Paris, Morocco, Krakow, etc., now I am more and more focused on Latin America and our roots. I would love to take my daughter there, I want her to first travel around Argentina and South America before going to other continents.

3. WHAT IS ONE OF THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS YOU HAVE HAD ON A TOUR?

Mmm, I have to say after finishing our tour Richard Gere asked me to take a picture with him!

4. WHAT IS A SUBJECT THAT FASCINATES YOU? WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT IT?

Right now I am super interested in Astrology. It is helping me to accept certain things in me that are innate in my sign and to understand cycles and the actions around them. I try to be with people that are passionate on the things I am interested in. It is the best way to learn (the same thing you need to take into account when hiring a guide: they need to be passionate on what they are talking about!).

5. WHAT DOES A DAY OFF LOOK LIKE?

Wake up around 9 am, enjoy a long and quiet breakfast, water the plants and spend time in the morning sun of my balcony. Then I have lunch with my family, then go to pottery lessons, and have a lemonade or a mate with a friend (I don’t drink coffee!). And if it’s a Tuesday or a Thursday, I go to my dance lesson!

6. DO YOU HAVE A PIECE OF ADVICE FOR SOLO FEMALE TRAVELERS?

I have travelled solo with other women without knowing anyone and it didn’t only help me meet new people but I have also met a very free and real myself! My advice will be: travel as much as you can! Open your heart to new people and new experiences!
