1. COMEDOR IS A MARRIAGE OF HIGH QUALITY, PROFESSIONAL GASTRONOMY AND HOME-STYLE COOKING. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE THIS KIND OF SPACE IN MEXICO CITY?

I started cooking at home, and my first events or professional engagements were all done from my apartment kitchen... for me it felt more natural to grow into another "home kitchen" rather than a restaurant.

2.WHAT (OR WHO) HAVE BEEN YOUR GREATEST GASTRONOMIC INFLUENCES?

The food culture in Guadalajara has been very important. There they also understand that meals are a gift to one another, that they are events that should be hosted with care and attention. I admire many women that are amazing home-cooks with no other ambition than to share with the family.

3. HOW DO YOU CREATE YOUR MENU?

I like talking to the clients to understand not only what they like, but also what they imagine their event should be like... and taking that into account I create a personalized menu.

4.WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IT IS ABOUT FOOD THAT BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER?

It is just the most natural thing... WE ALL EAT.  Since childhood we are fed and nurtured by special "mother" figures (moms, aunts, grandmas.. etc).. that imprint that feeling of love and security in all of us... no matter the culture.

5. WHO ARE THREE PEOPLE YOU WOULD LOVE TO HOST AT COMEDOR?

We keep our clients’ privacy very seriously (so I can’t tell names) but my favorite events have been always when the clients leave with a sense that something special or unique just happened. This normally happens more in family and friend gatherings than corporate ones. 

6. WHERE IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU LOVE TO VISIT FOR THE FOOD?

Mm.. I love Japan, but I’ve never been to India and I think I would love to go there.
